The Role
As the Head of Commercial for pandamart Malaysia, you will be the driving force behind our retail strategy.
You will own the commercial strategy & execution, ensuring that pandamart stores offer the right assortment at the right price, while building sustainable, profitable growth.
You will lead and mentor a high-performing team across Category Management and Private Label, and will engage cross-functionally with various teams from Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain to cement pandamart as the leading q-commerce destination in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic P&L Management
Drive the pandamart commercial P&L, balancing top-line growth with margin optimization.
Own the commercial levers of inventory health, specifically driving strategies to minimize waste, shrinkage, and expiries.
Collaborate with Marketing on customer acquisition/retention and Operations on efficiency to drive overall business growth.
2. Category Management & Assortment Strategy
Define the "winning" assortment: lead decisions on SKU onboarding, delisting, and category expansion.
Optimize category performance through data-driven reviews, ensuring assortment depth matches customer demand and market trends.
Drive Private Label range development & expansion.
3. Supplier Partnerships & Monetization
Lead high-level negotiations, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and commercial terms with local and global suppliers.
Grow "Retail Media" revenue together with the Retail Media & Partnership team and secure supplier support for campaigns.
4. Pricing, Competitiveness & Campaigns
Design and execute the SKU pricing strategy to balance margin protection with strong price perception.
Craft and oversee high-impact commercial campaigns that drive basket size and frequency.
5. Cross-Functional Operations
Align assortment strategy with warehouse capacity and supply chain constraints to ensure high availability and operational flow.
6. Team Leadership & Coaching
Build and lead a strong commercial team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
