The Role

As the Head of Commercial for pandamart Malaysia, you will be the driving force behind our retail strategy. 

You will own the commercial strategy & execution, ensuring that pandamart stores offer the right assortment at the right price, while building sustainable, profitable growth. 

You will lead and mentor a high-performing team across Category Management and Private Label, and will engage cross-functionally with various teams from Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain to cement pandamart as the leading q-commerce destination in Malaysia.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic P&L Management

  • Drive the pandamart commercial P&L, balancing top-line growth with margin optimization.

  • Own the commercial levers of inventory health, specifically driving strategies to minimize waste, shrinkage, and expiries.

  • Collaborate with Marketing on customer acquisition/retention and Operations on efficiency to drive overall business growth.

2. Category Management & Assortment Strategy

  • Define the "winning" assortment: lead decisions on SKU onboarding, delisting, and category expansion.

  • Optimize category performance through data-driven reviews, ensuring assortment depth matches customer demand and market trends.

  • Drive Private Label range development & expansion.

3. Supplier Partnerships & Monetization

  • Lead high-level negotiations, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and commercial terms with local and global suppliers.

  • Grow "Retail Media" revenue together with the Retail Media & Partnership team and secure supplier support for campaigns.

4. Pricing, Competitiveness & Campaigns

  • Design and execute the SKU pricing strategy to balance margin protection with strong price perception.

  • Craft and oversee high-impact commercial campaigns that drive basket size and frequency.

5. Cross-Functional Operations

  • Align assortment strategy with warehouse capacity and supply chain constraints to ensure high availability and operational flow.

6. Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Build and lead a strong commercial team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.

  • Provide active coaching and mentorship

  • Drive and monitor team OKRs and KPIs
