In Supply Chain Operations we lead, plan, and execute the supply of IKEA products between suppliers and retailers. We do this by 1) leading tactical and operational planning; 2) securing optimal replenishment; 3) sourcing and developing transport and logistics capacities; and 4) managing and execution of goods flow.
We are looking for suitable candidates for the role of Technical Manager, based at the IKEA Distribution Center in Port Klang, Malaysia.
As a Technical Manager in our Distribution Port Klang, you lead across all technical disciplines in the DC, orchestrating building infrastructure, automation systems, digital/IT topics and contractor relationships to create an integrated approach to DC reliability. This role balances long-term planning with operational excellence to ensure all systems work harmoniously to support operations.
Your key assignments are:
- Lead and develop all technical teams (maintenance, automation, IT and facility)
- Ensure the building and ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval System) are in optimal condition at all times.
- Establish team action plan, budgets, and performance metrics
- Align maintenance activities and facility improvements with business requirements, developing yearly Facility & Maintenance Plan.
- Oversee critical equipment lifecycle planning and technology upgrade initiatives
- Review and approve contractor agreements and secure implementation at agreed service level.
- Develop emergency response protocols and business continuity plans
- Report key performance indicators to Distribution Unit Manager
- Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization across all technical areas, including automation (ASRS) and technical innovation.
