Junior Geophysics Research Assistant (Seismic Data Processing) – Part-time, Remote
We are looking for a Junior / Entry-level Seismic Data Research Assistant to support a short-term research project focused on seismic data processing.
This opportunity is suitable for a fresh graduate or final-year student with a background in geophysics or a related field, particularly someone familiar with seismic methods, Seismic Unix (SU), and technical writing.
Responsibilities
- Support seismic data processing using Seismic Unix (SU).
- Assist with organizing, processing, and visualizing seismic data.
- Review and summarize relevant academic papers.
- Support technical writing, proofreading, and document organization.
- Prepare figures, plots, and technical presentation materials.
- Participate in technical discussions related to seismic data processing workflow.
Requirements
- Fresh graduate or final-year student in geophysics, geology, physics, earth science, or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of seismic methods.
- Familiarity with Seismic Unix (SU) is required.
- Strong technical writing skills in English and/or Bahasa Indonesia.
- Able to read and summarize academic papers in English.
- Familiarity with MATLAB and/or Python is an advantage.
- Detail oriented, reliable, communicative, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Work Arrangement
- Remote, part-time.
- Flexible working hours.
- Estimated commitment: 10 hours per week.
