As a
2nd Trainee Engineer, you will assist the Engine Department in the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel's machinery and equipment while gaining practical experience in marine engineering and dredging operations.
Function Description
The 2nd Trainee Engineer supports the engineering team in the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of all engine room, auxiliary, and dredging equipment onboard the hopper dredger. Working under the supervision of senior engineers, the trainee participates in routine inspections, planned maintenance, troubleshooting activities, and safety drills while developing practical knowledge of propulsion systems, hydraulic systems, pumps, generators, and dredging installations. The role requires adherence to company procedures, safety regulations, and environmental standards, as well as maintaining good housekeeping practices and completing all assigned training and competency requirements.

- Valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate
- Valid Seaman's Book
- STCW Basic Safety Training Certificates
- Valid Passport
- Marine Engineering Cadet/Trainee documentation or enrollment certificate
- Basic Security Awareness or Designated Security Duties Certificate (STCW)
- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
- Yellow fever vaccination
