Okay for Sales, but Flexibility Lacking

It's a standard corporate gig in the tech industry. For Sales Executive roles, you're expected to be available. Flexibility isn't their strong suit.

Pros

You get solid benefits, which is a plus for a corporate environment. The team in the Jakarta office is usually pretty supportive, which helps when you're busy. There's decent job security.

Cons

Work flexibility here is pretty tough, honestly. As a Sales Executive, you're expected to be onsite most days. The hybrid work options are really limited, even after the pandemic. Making personal appointments can be a real struggle.

Advice to Management

Management should really look into actual flexible work arrangements. Trusting employees more with their time would boost morale and productivity. It's time to move beyond old office norms.

Solid Job Security in a Big Company
Pros: You don't really worry about job security here, especially if you're working on core IT solutions. As a Software Engineer, I felt pretty stable. It's a big corporate company that's been around forever, so that helps.
Cons: Career growth isn't always clear, and it can feel slow. Sometimes, the work on system integration projects feels a bit dated. They could definitely update some processes.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up career progression paths for tech roles. Invest more in newer tech training to keep employees engaged and skills current.

Decent Pay, Standard Benefits for IT Roles
Pros: The base salary as a Software Engineer is competitive for the Jakarta market. We got a regular annual bonus, which was always a nice boost. Health insurance coverage is solid, providing good basic protection you'd expect from an established tech company.
Cons: Pay raises were usually very small each year, barely keeping up. The benefits package isn't very exciting or flexible; it's mostly basic stuff. Don't expect any fancy perks you might see at smaller, more modern tech companies in the electronics industry.
Advice to Management: Think about making annual pay raises more significant to truly reward good performance. Also, offering more diverse or flexible benefits could really help retain talent in the competitive tech sector.

Decent Flexibility, But Still Needs Work
Pros: I appreciate the hybrid model they introduced; it gives us a couple of WFH days which is solid for personal errands. As a Software Engineer, having that little bit of control over my schedule really helps, especially avoiding Jakarta traffic.
Cons: Sometimes the 'flexible' part feels more like a suggestion. Team leads often expect onsite presence for minor meetings, which defeats the purpose of the hybrid setup. The IT solutions sector can be demanding, and true flexibility isn't always there when project deadlines hit hard.
Advice to Management: Encourage managers to fully embrace the hybrid model. Trust your teams more with remote work, especially in the tech industry where it's common practice.
