Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for event venue sales, including corporate events, conferences, and social gatherings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, and event planners to secure repeat business.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, potential clients, and competitive positioning.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to maximize venue utilization and revenue.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional strategies that attract new clients.
Event Management & Execution:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute high-quality events from conception to completion, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and logistics while maintaining profitability.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams (catering, AV, security, etc.) to ensure flawless event delivery.
- Oversee on-site event operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide exceptional client service.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and implement improvements.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Mentor and guide junior event staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations) to align business goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Event Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in event management with a proven track record in venue sales and business development.
- Strong network within the corporate and social events industry.
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in event management software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite) and CRM tools.
- Creative, strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience leading large-scale / sizeable events and managing an event team is required.
