Daughters Of Tomorrow Limited

Registered as a charity under the Charities Act of Singapore, Daughters Of Tomorrow complements and supports existing training and workforce-related agencies by connecting volunteers and community resources to enable each woman on an individual level. By deep-diving into the practical day-to-day constraints of these women, we offer hand-holding and individual coaching to help each woman reach regular and sustained employment.
Our beneficiaries are women aged 18 to 68 from low-income families (living on less than $800 per capita per month), mostly living in government-subsidized rental flats, and facing multiple stressors in their families. Through sustained employment, women in our employment bridging program regain confidence in themselves and gain a social support network that helps them through their difficult times.

Research Executive (Social Mobility Programme)

About the Role

The SMP Executive will support the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation team to execute a funded research project - specifically the Social Mobility Programme, an exploratory research programme aiming to explore what interventions can better encourage women to increase stability and create improvements in their lives.

This role will report to the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and work closely with the SMP Research consultant, and coordinate with other programme functions, including Programme Development & Incubation, Community Partnerships & Programmes, Employment Bridging & Social Mobility, and Volunteer Management. The role will also involve participating in an organisation-wide bi-weekly meeting in person.

Responsibilities

Research - Social Mobility Programme

● Support the research team in recruiting for the programme, including identifying potential women who will be eligible for the research, organising recruitment drives, calling eligible women to share about the programme.

● Assist in consent taking when onboarding women into the programme as research participants

● Track the dates of intervention for participants and alert team on the follow-up needed

● Coordinate the timing and location for intervention, check-ins and interviews with participants

● Administer and track the disbursement of incentives to research participants on excel

● Conduct interviews and check-ins with women at a venue that may not be the office

● Take notes at research team discussions

● Check research data that have been keyed in to ensure no errors

● Ensure proper organisation of research documents in soft and hard copies

● Assist in preparation of research reports and presentations to stakeholders

● Support other future research studies and/or advocacy in line with the organisation’s mission and vision

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of research operations experience, preferably with social services or non-profit organisations

● Singaporean or PR

● Strong interpersonal skills and cross-cultural awareness

● Team-player and willingness to collaborate

● Quick to take initiative when needed

● Familiarity with Singapore’s social safety nets and policies

Requirements:

• A Bachelors degree from reputable university.
• Qualifications or work experience in psychology, cognitive science, or healthcare in elderly population is preferred.
• Equipment with research skills, such as literature review, conducting experiments, basic statistical analysis, report write-up, etc., is preferred.
• Experience in qualitative study research, including data collection and audio transcription is a plus.
• Proficient in Hokkien is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• To assist and work closely with the research team SUTD PI and Research Fellow in managing and coordinating all matters in the project
• To arrange and schedule experiment/interview appointments with university students, healthy elderly participants, elderly care centres, or other target population
• To undertake data collection, data entry, data analysis, etc.
• Assist in the preparation and writing of progress reports, presentations, and abstracts to conferences.
• To undertake and support administrative work, such as procurement and purchasing laboratory items, liaising with relevant internal and external parties, etc.
• Any other duties assigned by the research team

The Applied Bio-microfluidics Laboratory at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) has a Research Officer/Engineer position available in the research area of microfluidics. Successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative team to develop microfluidic cell manipulation technology.

About The Global Health & Tropical Medicine Group:

The Global Health & Tropical Medicine Group investigates the transmission and control of tropical infectious diseases and diseases of poverty, including some of the most prevalent and important infections that cause much suffering and economic loss worldwide. We aim to develop new public health interventions against these diseases that will lead to their sustainable control and eventual elimination.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for skilled researchers to work on projects related to Global Health & Tropical Medicine, including the epidemiology/spatial epidemiology and control/elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases and Tuberculosis.

You will;

* Present research at academic seminars and at national and international conferences, and collaborate with other researchers at a national & international level. This includes working as part of a team on externally funded projects subject to deadlines.
* Publish original and innovative results in refereed journals
* Assist to supervise research support staff in your research area and contribute to student supervision, as needed
* Collaborate with senior staff to actively seek and secure external funding, assist to prepare and submit research proposals to external funding bodies as appropriate
* Assist in outreach activities including to prospective students, research institutes, industry, government, the media and the general public

About You:

You are required to have;

* PhD (or submitted for examination) in epidemiology, public health, or a related field
* Experience in tropical infectious disease research
* Experience in spatial epidemiology
* Data analysis skills and experience working with health data
* Demonstrated ability to use and interpret outputs from software packages such as Stata, R or SAS
* Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written work
* Outstanding oral and written communication and intrapersonal skills with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise activities and meet deadlines in an ever-evolving environment

Dr. Liu Xiaogang's research group is currently seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher in computational chemistry to join their team. The primary focus of this position is to model and design organic fluorophores and probes for bioimaging and biosensing applications, as well as molecules that exhibit room-temperature phosphorescence. As a member of our team, the postdoctoral researcher will work collaboratively with both computational chemists and experimentalists to develop a deep understanding of various molecular systems, identify design rules, and create high-performance fluorescent and phosphorescent organic dyes with tailored properties.

This position is offered on a one-year basis, with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be offered a highly competitive salary package commensurate with their skills and experience.
